Is This too boring for the beinning of a novel? What can i do to improve (introduction)?
My name is Liz and I’m turning 16 this fall. I am not one of those teenagers that get into trouble. I pretty much get what I want when I want without hassle. My mom is the sweetest woman on earth and my dad spoils the both of us rotten. I couldn’t ask for a better pair of parents. I sort of run my household. My parents are lucky to have a daughter like me who would never take their kindness for weakness. I am similar to ther backbone. There are no set rules because I hardly do anything which is by choice. The typical teen would think I’m a total nerd but surprisingly I am considered popular. Obviously because of my appearance but of course this is shallow junior high school where looks are more important than getting an education to some. Pathetic in my opinion. I don’t have any friends and I’m probally viewed as stuck up. The furthest from the truth. I can’t help it if I can’t have an educated conversation with teens my age. I’m so irritated with girls the most.Their discussions consist of boys,sex, and gossip nothing that I would want to discuss. While they’re at the beach i’m learning to speak foreign languages. I speak 3 different languages now. I’m usually home alone alot which isn’t a problem at all. My parents knows that I am responsible. I don’t see what the big deal is about the boys at my school anyway sure some have grown more attractive since elementary but nothing to obsess over. I am no lesbian but guys my age wers jerks.It’s not that I didn’t want to date. Tomorrow will be the first day of high school. I’m hoping it will be less annoying than junior high.

I suggest to vary language. Do not keep using "I’ (Not to be rude, but my teacher tells us this all the time and it might sound vague/dull) Other than that, it sounds good i guess, but like i said just vary the language (words)

It’s easy to follow..but work on your punctuation and more importantly, content. You’re constantly telling and telling and telling about your life. You need a hook. "My name is Liz" is something you’d find in a 5th grader’s diary entry. Add suspense. Add drama. But you’re off to a great start; I can tell you worked hard.

Honestly, I’m too tired to give a verdict on the entire thing, but from a quick scan through I can tell you that you do need to do a grammar scan (maybe ask a teacher to go through it for you?) and also make the intro a bit more interesting, for example, if I was writing a story about a shock horror murder, rather than saying

"I was 15 years old when it happened", I’d say
"I still remember that day. It seems like so long ago, but I was only 15…"

Well, kind of. Your first sentence needs to get the reader’s attention. Make them want to read on to figure out what your talking about. Here’s some suggestions (feel free to use any of it):

I am not a lesbian. I’m just not attracted to any of the boys at my school. True, some are rather cute, but it’s their personalities and immature qualities that throw me off. For that reason, my parents trust me. I’m usually left home alone. Which is fine by me, usually all my parents want to talk about is all the negative things that a teen has to deal with: boys, sex, drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc.

I’m a trouble maker, no doubt. But that doesn’t mean that I have to listen to the frivolous conversations that adults throw at me. I mean, I love my parents, don’t get me wrong. My mother is one of the sweetest women I know, and my father treats us both like queens. They even let me run most of the house at times. We don’t really have rules… But, sometimes, they can be a little overbearing.

Today for instance, as I was leaving for school, my mom stopped me in the kitchen.

"Liz, honey," she said, "are you ready for your first day of school?"

"I guess so, it’s not like I have much of an option, is it?" I replied. "I just hope high school is a little less annoying than the past few years.

"Oh, you’ll be fine," she assures me. "Go get dressed and I’ll take your picture. "

"Mom, please, this isn’t kindergarten, and I’m nearly sixteen."

The key word is "elegant"! Any finger foods you would normally serve at a high tea would be appropriate, plus perhaps a champagne punch if this is college graduation. A variety of finger sandwiches (cucumber, watercress, egg salad, smoked salmon), small savory pastries like tiny puff pastry filled with shrimp or chicken salad, tiny individual quiches, small fresh-baked scones and petit fours and fruit tarts and eclairs. For a graduation it would be fine to add a tastefully decorated cake.

And perhaps for fun, in keeping with the theme, you could ask all the young ladies to wear hats? I think we girls behave differently and have more fun with a really superb summer hat on our heads.

It sure sounds nice. And I can’t say as I wouldn’t want to join you. But it can only come true for a very few, very lucky people. I grew up in the 60’s when the "hippies" were preaching "tune in, turn on, drop out". It I guess lots of folks really did try to blow off society and live pretty much the way you are talking about. Unfortunately, it seems that everyone who did so back then is today either a straight-laced, big bucks corporate type, or a semi-homeless burn-outs who live in a single room (when they can afford it) who work at the quick mart for rent and food money.

Plus, look around, there aren’t that many "paradises" left. Where can you live like that on the beach in Southern California anymore. It’s even worse on the east coast. Places that were fishing shacks when I was a kid have new coats of paint and sell for half a million$ today.

We all want to be free of worries, but they have a way of catching up to us. Try living under a bridge and see how long it is before the cops start to hassle you, or you get sick and have to go the the ER (with NO INSURANCE).

Like I said, a few lucky folks pull it off, They own little bait shops, surf shops or dive boats and make enough money off the tourists to get by and still have time to surf and enjoy life. There are only handful that lucky. Good luck, if you can make it happen!

I also noticed some of the answers came from folks who are still in school. Wow! If they think everyday life sucks while they are still in school, wait ’till they grow up and work 50 weeks a year. It is us working stiff who REALLY want to escape.

No life is lived free of worry or consequence. You don’t have to be defined by your job unless you let it be that way. If you feel like you need to get away for a while that is not a problem at all and is quite natural. So make sure your life is in order, get some money together and make the arrangments to take a surf trip or something. If you really want a simple life then find a place to move and a job that requires little money/investment and go for it. Live your dream but don’t waste your life. You have to care about something or you would simply lay down and die. I agree that you should do whatever makes you happy because you only get one chance at life.

How do you change Pantech Matrix Vibration Intensity?

question about pregnancy?
my girlfriend thinks she is pregnant. im fairly certain she isnt - she hasnt had her period and she was due on the 22 of january, however she has been up to 6 months late before. she says she is very irregular with when it comes.

my only concern is that - when i was putting the condom on, i had just gotten the erection and there was no ‘foreplay’ or anything, it just popped up and on went the condom right away, however - there was no sperm or ‘pre-c*m’ just i tapped the wrong side on the head of the penis, then realised it was wrong after about 2-3seconds and then put it on and used it.
yes it was stupid and careless, however there was no sperm anywhere at all, just is there a possibility?

what are some signs to know if she is pregnant?
when do the earliest signs come? (its been 2-3weeks since we had sex)
also - i didnt ejaculate at any point during sex

If you’re absolutely sure there was none on there and that you didn’t ejaculate and that nothing leaked out anywhere or anything - then she can’t be pregnant by you.

Chances are she’s just irregular - but odd that she would say that she’s pregnant. Has she taken a test, do you know? She can always get a blood test done at her doctor’s if she’s not totally sure when her period should’ve come. Good luck with whatever happens Skibabe | Feb 02, 2010

Well, there’s always a possibility as condoms themselves aren’t even 100% foolproof, but based upon your scenario it sounds like the chances of pregnancy are pretty dang remote. I wouldn’t be concerned, however some early pregnancy symptoms are lack of a period (obviously) tender/sore breasts and the lovely morning sickness. The sore breasts are usually once of the first signs of pregnancy aside from skipping a period. Keep in mind though that not all women experience the same symptoms. Some get nothing at all!

Have her take a pregnancy test, but I’m pretty certain it’ll turn up negative.

some of the signs of pregancy gettin sick for no reason eatin more gettin tired quick and sometimes without even doing anything, not having any enegry. but if you didnt cum into her or there was none on the condom then she isnt prego but if you aint for sure then there is a chance cause alot of ppl say you cnt get prego from precum but you can.
