When pushed to make a choice, will she follow the path of the tried and true or will she take a risk and dance into uncharted territory?

The Romanis Year's Best (Football) List!?
Here’s a sense of own Best of 2009 list in football. As always, it might not be a true reflection as I have chosen some on sentiment rather than merit.

1. Best Player - Lionel Messi (No need to elaborate for obvious reasons)
2. Best Club - FC Barcelona (Another obvious choice)
3. Best Managers - Kim Jong Hun (North Korea) / Vladimir Weiss (Slovakia) (Obviously there’s no contest if we lay Pep Guordiola’s achievements on the floor, but these 2 deserve huge plaudits for steering their teams to the WC Finals.
North Korea managed to overcome the challenges of Iran and Saudi Arabia, both arguably better teams than them, whilst Slovakia topped a group that included the Czech Rep, Poland and Slovenia)

4. Best Club Match: - CL Final Rome 2009. (A few possibilities, Liverpool 4-4 Arsenal or Real Madrid 2-6 Barcelona, but Barcelona provided an outstanding display of football to easily dismantle Manchester United, probably the 2nd best side in world at the time. It could have finished far greater than the 2-0 scoreline).

5. Best International Match - Argentina 2-1 Peru (WC Qualifier) Not a classic in the truest sense, but the atmosphere and finish in the driving rain at River Plate’s Monumental Stadium, was breathtaking. Not forgetting Maradona’s antics as well. The Egypt 2-0 Algeria match in Cairo was another dramatic one)

6. Best Moment - Thierry Henry’s handball against France. The 1 defining highlight of the year. It will be remembered for a very long time.

7. Best Upset - Slovenia 1-0 Russia. A last minute away goal in the first leg, gave Slovenia some hope, but many expected Hiddink’s Russia to finish the job off at the Petrol Arena. How wrong any were. Another best upset was Saudi Arabia 2-2 Bahrain. The Saudis scored deep in injury time to go 2-1 up and secure a play-off against New Zealand. From the restart, Bahrain went up and equalised through Latif, and they advanced on the away goals. The home crowd in Riyadh was silent until Montashari scored, they then erupted in the usual Arabic style - horns blaring, singing, dancing, clapping and screaming - 30 seconds later, it felled deathly silent. The contrast - priceless)

8. Best Goal - Ronaldo Porto 0-1 Man United CL 2009. A 40 yard screamer ensured United victory in the Estadio Du Dragao. There have been so many others I can’t seem to recall when each one happened, take Messi for example, he’s scored so many wonders, I can’t remember if it was this or last year. But I do recall that goal against Getafe.

9. Best Save - Can’t seem to recall 1 presently, too many to choose from.

10 Best Quote - Diego Maradona. No contest. Here’s what he said:

A boy fancied me and i just carried on being his friend now i don't think he feels the same?
I met this boy in the year 10 (the year below me) about 3 months ago. I have found out from my friend who met him at the same time as me, that he fancies me really badly. I carried on being friendly to him even though i knew he fancied me, as i didn’t want to blank him! We go out together most weekends and just generally hang about, we’ve been to the cinema a few times too.
Yesterday i spoke to him on facebook as we usually do and he was really weird with me giving me one word answers. At this point i realised how much he means to me and that i actually do fancy him back, so i said to him ‘do you fancy meeting up at half term’ and he replied saying ’shrug’ and then he said he was going off facebook and just left.
This sounds like i’m really over reacting but i don’t know what to do as i really really like him and i don’t understand what i’ve done to upset him. I would have spoken to him at school today but i was off ill.
HELP ME

I used to have a friend who fancied me soooo much that at one point he used to be a nob and be funny with me but that was because when he asked me out i said no…
Y don’t u just meet up like you said n just ask he have u done out wrong if he say no y just say because he means so much to me and i thought you where being funny the other day and i dnt wanna lose you and see how it goes from there….What harm could it do?
Well good luck hun x

are you australian or something? why do you say fancy so much?
Arias | Feb 04, 2010

hey just take a deep breath and relax, if he really liked you so much then he’ll have a good chance of coming back if you really show you’re feelings for him, if you want any other help email me at jbruner75@yahoo.com
Jake | Feb 04, 2010

It hasn’t been that long right? In that case just tell him that you Fancy him and he should turn around.

I wish you two luck ^.^

Later on you should also ask him why he was acting this way.
LunateLulu | Feb 04, 2010

he may have enjoyed hanging out with you a few times but then that was all?……being told from a friend that someone likes you is always tough - because you didn’t make the judgment yourself; therefore you really don’t know how much he likes you or if the guy just thinks you’re a nice girl. make sense?

now you like him…………uh oh. once you begin to like someone you’ll start to be a little more aggressive in your convos or actions - and that might not be what he wants. i don’t know what you talk about, so im not saying you’re doing anything wrong. im just saying that if you start showing more interest (and its noticed) then he may take a step back. if he just thought you were a nice girl (but not wanting anything serious) then he isn’t going to respond to your messages as he had before.
sounds good, i knew Victor and Adam were faking the verbal exchange of words. I hope Patty leaves the show and take her doppleganger with her. I want Ashley to remember she lost her baby and give Faith back to Sharon. If I were Jack I’d stay away from any deals with Gloria, do not trust her. I want to see a love triangle square with JT/Mac/Victoria, Victoria/Billy/Chloe/Chance. But lose the Lily/Cane/Mac surrogate storyline, and have a showdown between Lauren and Daisy and Ryder and whoever is gaslighting Lauren (is it really Sheila?) and stop placing the blame on Eden.

Which face is Sheila gonna comeback with? Phyllis’ or the original Sheila?

A PALTRY 8 Billion for high speed rail?
The cost to replace Alaska Way Viaduct here in Seattle gonna cost about 2 Billion.
Granted…it is not a rail project, just a mere tunnel running North to South about the length of downtown Seattle. Probably from Spokane St to Denny Ave.
But if one lousy tunnel costs 2 Billion what can be accomplished with 8 Billion?

The big dig in boston cost 12 billion. 8 billion will become 100 billion, which wll become 150 billion, with interest.

The really beautiful thing about it is that federal tax dollars will be used to fund it. And where will it be? I’m sure it’s going to have a hub right here in my little rural town, right, so I will get maximum benefit for my tax dollars. Awesome.
Don't Trickle on Me | Jan 28, 2010

Obama is a liar. The high speed rail in Florida was approved by the voters several years ago. It was voted an amendment to the Florida Constitution. Now that sorry goat face a hole in DC wants us to believe HE dit it? Hes a liar of the Highest Magnitude! My guess is that Disney/NBC lobbied Obummer to build that route right to the disney gates!!! Wanna BET? Additionally, the voters at the time told Disney to stick it!
My Business Plan | Jan 28, 2010

You are right. The government should be asking companies for bids to build these high speed trains.
Earl Partridge (the late Jason Robards) produced “WDKK” when it was first on in the late 60s. He is dying of brain and lung cancer and is being taken care of by Phil Parma (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a male nurse. Linda, Earl’s trophy wife (Julianne Moore) starts to fall in love with Earl for real, despite her cheating. Earl, rapidly dying on his bed, asks Phil to find his estranged son, Frank T.J. He has a very rocky relationship with his daughter Claudia (Melora Waters), who sniffs crack 24/7 and accuses her father of sexually molesting her. Police Officer Jim (John C. Reilly) goes to Claudia’s house after getting called about a disturbance. He falls in love with her right away… Stanley Specter (Jeremy Blackman) is a contestant on “WDKK”, who is a genius and is being used by his father to make money. If Stanley and his team keep winning, they will set a record on the show and get tons of money. The record Stanley is trying to beat is the 1968 record set by Donnie Smith (William H. Macy), who had the exact same childhood when he was on the show and has now grown up to be a pathetic loser. He’s been recently fired from his job, and is trying to find his way into happiness…

Looking for title suggestions for a novel I'm writing on WWII?
Basically, the plot of the story surrounds the events of the second world war/Holocaust.

It’s about a German soldier who spent his life dedicated to his country and to his father who was a world war one survivor. His father has strong beliefs against the jewish people and raised his son to fight against them.

When sent into actual battle, the German soldier finds himself repulsed and disgusted by the death and the fighting. Unable to handle the gore he shoots himself in the leg in order to be sent away. He escapes the hospital where he is sent and looks for a hideout.

In search for the perfect hideout the German soldier finds himself face to face with a jewish family who is also on the run. He begins to learn more about them, and soon finds that the way he views the world changes.

Why didn't Obama speak like a real man last night at West Point?
Winston Churchill - A real man and a real Patriot to his country

"Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France,
we shall fight on the seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

FDR - a real American Patriot and a real man who actually loved our great country

"As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us.

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

So you now disagree with General McChrystal after telling us for MONTHS that Obama should listen to him. You know…the General McChystal that AGREES with the timeline and understands what it means. The General McChyrsal that APPROVES of the speech.

"McChrystal indicated that while he supported the timeline he was keen to stress that it was far from absolute. "It’s not an 18 months and everybody leaves. The president has expressed on numerous occasions a long-term strategic partnership with Afghanistan and that includes all manners of assistance. So the concept is as ANSF [Afghan National Security Forces] capacity rises, the requirement for coalition military forces goes down."

"In a confident but sometimes sobering address to his commanders around the country this morning, McChrystal said he believes that the war in Afghanistan is at a turning point.

Paraphrasing Winston Churchill, he said, "I don’t think we’re at the end, or the beginning of the end. We’re at the end of the beginning." He asked for a moment of silence for the war’s dead and injured.

He then gave his commanders a rousing pep-talk, saying the president’s speech had given them a "new clarity of mission…providing their Afghan partners with the time, space and capability to defend their country.""

General McChystal is the man we have been told time and time again we should listen to. Let us know if he is now a fool and should be ignored.
It would make sense if the situation in Afghanistan bore the slightest resemblance to what the UK was facing in 1940. It doesn’t.
Like his pal from MSNBC, Chris Matthews said, "he thought he was in the enemy’s camp". He was scared shiitless. A true blood communist feels that way.
A translation of the meaning in last night’s speech

"We made friends with the Muslim world in the past year, due to ME, Nobel Prize winner.

My plan is, and I have taken a long time to develop this is, basically, simple. I want you guys to go there, win, or wrap it up, whatever, but come back in 18 months because that is right around the time I plan to start my re-election bid and I REALLY want to use my ending of two wars, to guarantee me the White House for another term.

Oh and since I am talking, in our nation there is a lot of venom right now. Basically people who disagree with me and keep posting videos of my cronies which then force me to give them the Reverend Wright treatment and distance myself from them. What can I do, these Americans don’t like my radical friends. My point is, don’t F-ing disagree with the President! Sure nothing is more American, but I am bringing you guys the change, like do not criticize the President."
Well for one,Obama has never been in the Military. He is doing something at last and that goes against everything he believes in.I don’t really like the man and did not vote for him.In 18 months he will have a better grasp on what he needs to do so until then,I do want him to succeed in this surge.
So, you’re comparing the remnants of the broken up taliban and al qaeda to the war machine of the Axis Powers of WWII. Okaaaaay. I think the president would give a more "manly" speech if our enemies had taken over most of the American continent and were one good push from invading the U.S. mainland. I hope you have a good shovel because you’re digging deep.
